He was born into a family of musicians, and his father, Luigi Cifariello Ciardi, was a composer and conductor. Fabio began playing the piano at a young age and showed a natural talent for music. He studied at the Conservatory of Naples, where he received a degree in piano performance. After completing his studies, Fabio began his career as a pianist, performing in concerts throughout Italy and Europe. He also began composing music, and his early works were influenced by the classical and romantic composers of the past. However, he soon developed his own unique style, which blended elements of classical music with contemporary techniques. One of Fabio's early works was his Piano Sonata No. 1, which he composed in 1980. The piece was well-received by audiences and critics alike, and it showcased Fabio's talent as both a pianist and a composer. He continued to compose music throughout the 1980s, and his works were performed by some of the leading orchestras and ensembles in Italy. In the 1990s, Fabio began to gain international recognition for his music. He was invited to perform and compose music for a number of festivals and events, including the Venice Biennale and the Festival dei Due Mondi in Spoleto. He also began to collaborate with other musicians and artists, including the choreographer Carolyn Carlson and the filmmaker Ermanno Olmi. One of Fabio's most famous works is his opera, "La Lupa," which he composed in 1995. The opera is based on a play by Giovanni Verga and tells the story of a woman who is torn between her love for her son and her desire for a wealthy man. The opera was a critical and commercial success, and it was performed in theaters throughout Italy and Europe. Fabio continued to compose music throughout the 2000s, and his works became increasingly experimental and avant-garde. He was particularly interested in exploring the relationship between music and technology, and he often incorporated electronic and computer-generated sounds into his compositions. Sadly, Fabio passed away on December 11, 2018, at the age of 62. However, his legacy as a composer and pianist lives on, and his music continues to be performed and celebrated by musicians and audiences around the world.More....
