Chor der Ludwigsburger Schlossfestspiele, also known as the Choir of the Ludwigsburg Palace Festival, is a renowned classical music ensemble based in Ludwigsburg, Germany. The choir was founded in 1952 by conductor Wolfgang Gönnenwein, and has since become one of the most respected and sought-after choral groups in Europe. The choir's early years were marked by a focus on Baroque and Renaissance music, with performances of works by composers such as Bach, Handel, and Monteverdi. However, under the leadership of Gönnenwein, the choir began to expand its repertoire to include works from a variety of musical periods and styles. One of the choir's most notable performances came in 1966, when they were invited to perform at the Salzburg Festival, one of the most prestigious classical music festivals in the world.
