His father was a jazz pianist, and his mother was a classical pianist. From a young age, Sheets was exposed to a wide variety of music, and he began playing the piano when he was just four years old. One of Sheets' most notable works is his Symphony No. 1, which was premiered by the Detroit Symphony Orchestra in 2015.
