He grew up in a family of musicians, with his father being a renowned pianist and his mother a violinist. Lahusen showed an early interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of four. He quickly showed a natural talent for the instrument and began taking lessons from his father. As a child, Lahusen participated in numerous piano competitions and won several awards.
