Jerry Blackstone is a renowned conductor, educator, and choral musician who has made significant contributions to the world of classical music. Born in 1952 in New York City, Blackstone grew up in a family that valued music and the arts. His parents were both amateur musicians, and they encouraged their son to pursue his passion for music from an early age. Blackstone began his formal music education at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York, where he earned a Bachelor of Music degree in 1974. He then went on to earn a Master of Music degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1976 and a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of Michigan in 1983. Throughout his career, Blackstone has held numerous positions as a conductor and educator.
