Producers Cast Ensemble is a classical music ensemble that was founded in 2015 by a group of talented musicians who shared a passion for producing and performing classical music. The ensemble is based in New York City and has quickly gained a reputation for its exceptional performances and innovative approach to classical music. The founding members of Producers Cast Ensemble are violinist and artistic director, Sarah Whitney, cellist, Laura Metcalf, and pianist, Andrea Lam. All three musicians are highly accomplished and have performed with some of the world's most prestigious orchestras and ensembles. Whitney has performed with the New York Philharmonic, the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, and the American Symphony Orchestra, among others. Metcalf has performed with the New York City Ballet Orchestra, the New York Pops, and the American Symphony Orchestra, while Lam has performed with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, and the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra. The ensemble's mission is to bring classical music to a wider audience by presenting innovative and engaging performances that showcase the beauty and power of classical music. They achieve this by combining traditional classical music with contemporary works and collaborating with other artists from different genres. One of the highlights of Producers Cast Ensemble's career was their performance at the Lincoln Center's Mostly Mozart Festival in 2017. The ensemble performed a program that included works by Mozart, Beethoven, and contemporary composer, Nico Muhly. The performance was highly acclaimed, with The New York Times describing it as "a thrilling and innovative program that showcased the ensemble's exceptional musicianship and creativity." In addition to their performances, Producers Cast Ensemble is also committed to education and outreach.
