Johanna Novom is the first violinist of the quartet, and she has performed with the New York Philharmonic, the Boston Symphony Orchestra, and the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra. The quartet's performance of the Opus 20 quartets was later released as a recording, which received critical acclaim and was named one of the best classical recordings of the year by The New York Times. The Diderot String Quartet has also been recognized for their innovative programming and their commitment to performing lesser-known works. In 2016, the quartet was awarded the prestigious Chamber Music America/ASCAP Award for Adventurous Programming.
