Adam Neely is a renowned bassist, composer, and educator in the world of classical music. Born on June 20, 1988, in New York City, Neely grew up in a family of musicians. His father, David Neely, is a conductor and his mother, Susan Neely, is a pianist. Neely's older brother, Aaron Neely, is also a musician. Neely began playing the bass at the age of 11 and quickly developed a passion for music. He attended the Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts in New York City, where he studied classical bass with Orin O'Brien. After graduating from high school, Neely went on to study at the Manhattan School of Music, where he earned a Bachelor of Music degree in Jazz Bass Performance. Throughout his career, Neely has performed with a variety of ensembles and musicians, including the New York Philharmonic, the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, and jazz pianist Vijay Iyer. He has also performed in numerous Broadway shows, including "The Lion King" and "Wicked." In addition to his work as a performer, Neely is also a prolific composer. He has written music for a variety of ensembles, including string quartets, jazz ensembles, and orchestras. His compositions have been performed by ensembles around the world, including the New York Philharmonic and the London Symphony Orchestra. Neely is also a dedicated educator.
