Sr. Mary Magdalene Buddington was a renowned classical music artist who dedicated her life to music and spirituality. She was born on January 12, 1925, in New York City, to a family of musicians. Her father was a pianist, and her mother was a singer, and they both encouraged her to pursue music from a young age. Sr. Mary Magdalene began her musical training at the age of six, studying piano and voice. She showed exceptional talent and dedication, and by the age of 12, she was already performing in public concerts. She continued her studies at the Juilliard School of Music, where she earned a Bachelor of Music degree in piano performance. After completing her studies, Sr. Mary Magdalene joined the Sisters of Mercy, a Catholic religious order, and became a nun. She continued to pursue her musical career while also devoting herself to her religious vocation. She performed in concerts and recitals across the United States and Europe, and her performances were always praised for their technical brilliance and emotional depth. One of the highlights of Sr. Mary Magdalene's career was her performance at the Vatican in 1959.
