Ints Teterovskis is a Latvian classical music artist who has made a name for himself as a pianist, conductor, and composer. Born on May 22, 1975, in Riga, Latvia, Teterovskis showed an early interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of six. He went on to study at the Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music, where he earned a degree in piano performance. Teterovskis' talent as a pianist was quickly recognized, and he began performing in concerts and competitions throughout Latvia and Europe. In 1997, he won first prize at the International Piano Competition in Rome, Italy, which launched his international career. He went on to perform in major concert halls around the world, including Carnegie Hall in New York, the Royal Albert Hall in London, and the Berlin Philharmonic. In addition to his career as a pianist, Teterovskis has also made a name for himself as a conductor. He has conducted orchestras in Latvia, Russia, and Germany, and has been praised for his ability to bring out the best in his musicians. In 2005, he was appointed the principal conductor of the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra, a position he held until 2010. Teterovskis is also a prolific composer, and has written music for a variety of ensembles and genres. His compositions have been performed by orchestras and chamber groups around the world, and he has been commissioned to write music for a number of prestigious events, including the opening ceremony of the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin, Italy.
