The University of Kentucky Symphony Orchestra is a classical music ensemble based in Lexington, Kentucky. The orchestra was founded in 1918 by Carl A. Lampert, who served as its conductor until 1946. Since then, the orchestra has been led by a number of distinguished conductors, including Kenneth Wright, John Nardolillo, and John Strickler. The University of Kentucky Symphony Orchestra is made up of approximately 90 student musicians, many of whom are pursuing degrees in music at the University of Kentucky.
