L'Assemblée des Honnestes Curieux is a classical music ensemble that was founded in 2001 in Brussels, Belgium. The group was formed by a group of musicians who shared a passion for early music and a desire to explore the rich repertoire of the Baroque era. The ensemble's founding members included violinist François Fernandez, cellist Roel Dieltiens, and harpsichordist Frank Agsteribbe. Over the years, the group has expanded to include a rotating cast of musicians, depending on the repertoire being performed. One of the ensemble's main goals is to bring new life to lesser-known works from the Baroque era, as well as to explore the connections between different musical traditions from the period. To this end, the group has performed a wide range of repertoire, from well-known works by Bach and Handel to lesser-known pieces by composers such as Telemann and Rameau. One of the ensemble's most notable performances was their 2004 concert at the Festival de Saintes in France, where they performed a program of music by the French Baroque composer Jean-Philippe Rameau. The concert was widely praised for its innovative programming and virtuosic performances, and helped to establish L'Assemblée des Honnestes Curieux as one of the leading ensembles in the early music world. In addition to their performances, the ensemble has also been recognized for their recordings. Their 2006 album, "Les Nations," which features music by the French Baroque composer François Couperin, was awarded the prestigious Diapason d'Or award in France. The group has also recorded several albums for the Harmonia Mundi label, including a critically acclaimed recording of Bach's "Brandenburg Concertos." Despite their success, L'Assemblée des Honnestes Curieux remains committed to their mission of exploring the rich and diverse repertoire of the Baroque era.
