Christopher Still is a renowned classical music artist who has made a significant impact in the world of music. He was born on August 6, 1965, in Los Angeles, California, and grew up in a family of musicians. His father was a professional trumpet player, and his mother was a pianist. From a young age, Christopher showed a keen interest in music and began playing the trumpet at the age of nine. Christopher's talent was evident from the start, and he quickly became a standout performer in his school's music program. He continued to hone his skills throughout his teenage years, studying with some of the best trumpet teachers in the country. In 1983, he was accepted into the prestigious Juilliard School in New York City, where he studied under the tutelage of William Vacchiano, the legendary principal trumpet player of the New York Philharmonic. After graduating from Juilliard in 1987, Christopher began his professional career as a trumpet player. He quickly established himself as one of the most talented and versatile musicians in the industry, performing with some of the world's most renowned orchestras and ensembles. He has played with the New York Philharmonic, the Boston Symphony Orchestra, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, and the Los Angeles Philharmonic, among others. One of Christopher's most significant accomplishments came in 1992 when he was appointed as the principal trumpet player of the Los Angeles Philharmonic. This was a dream come true for Christopher, as he had grown up in Los Angeles and had always admired the orchestra. He held this position for over two decades, during which time he became one of the most respected and admired musicians in the orchestra. Throughout his career, Christopher has been recognized for his exceptional talent and contributions to the world of music. He has received numerous awards and accolades, including the Avery Fisher Career Grant, the Young Concert Artists International Auditions, and the Naumburg International Trumpet Competition. He has also been a featured soloist on many recordings, including the Grammy Award-winning album "Shostakovich: Symphony No. 5" with the Los Angeles Philharmonic. In addition to his work as a performer, Christopher is also a dedicated teacher and mentor. He has taught at several prestigious institutions, including the University of Southern California, the Colburn School, and the Aspen Music Festival and School. He is known for his passionate and engaging teaching style, and many of his students have gone on to successful careers in music.
