Born in Moscow, Russia, in 1981, Khitruk showed an early interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of five. Her parents, both professional musicians, recognized her talent and encouraged her to pursue a career in music. Khitruk's early musical education was rigorous and comprehensive. She attended the Gnessin School of Music in Moscow, where she studied with renowned pianist and pedagogue Tatiana Zelikman. Under Zelikman's tutelage, Khitruk developed a deep understanding of the technical and artistic aspects of piano playing, as well as a love for the music of the great composers. Khitruk's talent and dedication soon began to pay off. In 1996, at the age of 15, she won first prize at the International Piano Competition in San Bartolomeo al Mare, Italy. This was the first of many awards and accolades that Khitruk would receive throughout her career. After completing her studies at the Gnessin School of Music, Khitruk went on to attend the Moscow State Conservatory, where she studied with renowned pianist and pedagogue Sergei Dorensky. Under Dorensky's guidance, Khitruk continued to develop her technical and artistic skills, and began to explore the nuances and subtleties of the great works of classical music. Khitruk's talent and hard work soon caught the attention of the international music community. In 2001, she was invited to perform at the International Keyboard Institute and Festival in New York City, where she received critical acclaim for her performances of works by Chopin, Liszt, and Rachmaninoff. Over the years, Khitruk has performed at some of the world's most prestigious concert halls and music festivals. She has appeared as a soloist with the Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra, the Russian National Orchestra, and the St. Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra, among others. She has also performed at the Ravinia Festival in Chicago, the Tanglewood Music Festival in Massachusetts, and the Verbier Festival in Switzerland. Khitruk's repertoire is vast and varied, encompassing works by composers from Bach to Bartok. She is particularly known for her interpretations of the music of Chopin, Rachmaninoff, and Scriabin, and has recorded several albums of their works. In addition to her solo performances, Khitruk is also an accomplished chamber musician. She has collaborated with some of the world's most renowned musicians, including violinist Maxim Vengerov, cellist Mischa Maisky, and pianist Lang Lang. Khitruk's talent and dedication have earned her numerous awards and accolades throughout her career. In addition to her early success at the International Piano Competition in San Bartolomeo al Mare, she has won first prize at the International Piano Competition in Senigallia, Italy, and the International Piano Competition in Valencia, Spain. She has also been awarded the Grand Prix at the International Piano Competition in Epinal, France, and the Special Prize for Best Performance of a Work by Chopin at the International Piano Competition in Warsaw, Poland.
