Tanja Zapolski is a renowned classical music artist who has made a name for herself as a pianist, chamber musician, and educator. Born in Skopje, Macedonia, in 1976, Zapolski showed an early interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of five. She quickly demonstrated a natural talent for the instrument and began taking lessons with some of the best teachers in her hometown. As a young musician, Zapolski was drawn to the works of the great composers of the classical and romantic eras, including Beethoven, Chopin, and Schumann. She spent countless hours practicing and studying their music, developing a deep understanding of their styles and techniques. Her dedication and hard work paid off, and she soon began to attract attention for her exceptional talent. In 1994, Zapolski moved to Norway to continue her studies at the Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo. There, she studied with some of the most respected pianists and educators in the country, including Einar Steen-Nøkleberg and Håvard Gimse. She also had the opportunity to perform in some of Norway's most prestigious concert halls, including the Oslo Concert Hall and the Grieg Hall in Bergen. After completing her studies in Norway, Zapolski moved to the United States to pursue a career as a professional musician. She settled in New York City, where she quickly established herself as a sought-after pianist and chamber musician. She performed regularly in some of the city's most prestigious venues, including Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Zapolski's performances were praised for their technical precision, emotional depth, and musical sensitivity. She was particularly noted for her ability to bring out the nuances and subtleties of the music she played, creating performances that were both powerful and nuanced. Her repertoire was wide-ranging, encompassing everything from the works of the classical masters to contemporary compositions. In 2001, she was awarded the prestigious Borletti-Buitoni Trust Fellowship, which recognizes outstanding young musicians from around the world. She has also been a recipient of the Norwegian government's prestigious Stipend for Young Artists, as well as the Norwegian Soloist Prize. In addition to her work as a performer, Zapolski is also a dedicated educator. She has taught at some of the most respected music schools in the United States, including the Juilliard School and the Manhattan School of Music.
