Wong began her musical journey by learning the piano and the cello. She quickly showed a natural talent for both instruments and began performing in public at a young age. As she grew older, Wong became interested in exploring different genres of music, including jazz, rock, and experimental music. Wong attended the University of California, San Diego, where she studied music composition and performance. She has performed at some of the world's most prestigious music festivals, including the San Francisco Jazz Festival, the Berlin Jazz Festival, and the New York Jazz Festival. One of the highlights of Wong's career was her performance at the 2012 Venice Biennale, where she presented a piece called "The Unlearning." The piece was a collaboration with visual artist and filmmaker David Michalek and explored themes of memory, identity, and loss. Wong has also received numerous awards and accolades for her work as a musician. In 2010, she was awarded a grant from the Creative Work Fund, which supports artists who are working on projects that promote social change. She has also been awarded grants from the San Francisco Arts Commission and the Zellerbach Family Foundation. In addition to her work as a performer, Wong is also a composer and has written music for a variety of ensembles and orchestras. Her compositions have been performed by the Kronos Quartet, the San Francisco Symphony, and the Berkeley Symphony, among others.
