Born in Venice, Italy in 1963, Poli began playing the piano at the age of six and quickly showed a natural talent for the instrument. He went on to study at the Conservatory of Music in Venice, where he received his diploma in piano performance with honors. After completing his studies, Poli began performing extensively throughout Europe, Asia, and the United States. He quickly gained a reputation as a virtuoso pianist with a deep understanding of the classical repertoire. One of Poli's early career highlights was his performance at the 1986 International Piano Competition in Senigallia, Italy.
