Elizabeth Mann is a renowned flutist and a prominent figure in the world of classical music. Born in 1960 in Dallas, Texas, Mann grew up in a family of musicians. Her father, Robert Mann, was a violinist and the founder of the Juilliard String Quartet, while her mother, Lucy Rowan Mann, was a pianist and a teacher. Growing up in such a musical environment, Mann was exposed to classical music from a very young age and began playing the flute at the age of nine. Mann's talent for the flute was evident from the beginning, and she quickly became a prodigy. She studied with some of the most renowned flutists of the time, including Julius Baker, Samuel Baron, and Jean-Pierre Rampal. Mann attended the Juilliard School in New York City, where she earned her Bachelor of Music degree in 1982 and her Master of Music degree in 1984.
