Barbara Emilia Schedel was born on May 12, 1985, in Vienna, Austria. She was born into a family of musicians, with her father being a renowned pianist and her mother a violinist. From a young age, Barbara showed a keen interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of four. Her parents recognized her talent and encouraged her to pursue a career in music. Barbara's early years were spent studying music at the Vienna Conservatory, where she received rigorous training in piano performance, music theory, and composition. She quickly distinguished herself as a prodigious talent, winning numerous awards and accolades for her performances. Her teachers noted her exceptional musicality and technical proficiency, and predicted that she would go on to become one of the great pianists of her generation.
