Supper Club is a classical music ensemble that was founded in 2015 by a group of talented musicians who shared a passion for creating innovative and engaging performances. The ensemble is known for its unique approach to classical music, which combines traditional repertoire with contemporary elements to create a fresh and exciting sound. The founding members of Supper Club were violinist Sarah Whitney, cellist Laura Metcalf, and pianist Liza Stepanova. All three musicians had extensive experience performing in various classical music ensembles and were eager to explore new ways of presenting classical music to audiences. From the beginning, Supper Club was focused on creating performances that were both musically and visually engaging. The ensemble's concerts often feature multimedia elements, such as video projections and lighting effects, that enhance the audience's experience of the music. One of Supper Club's early highlights was a performance at the National Sawdust music venue in Brooklyn, New York. The concert, titled "Supper Club: A Night of Music and Food," featured a unique pairing of classical music and cuisine. The audience was treated to a multi-course meal that was specially designed to complement the music being performed. This innovative approach to classical music quickly caught the attention of audiences and critics alike. Supper Club began to receive invitations to perform at major music festivals and venues across the United States and Europe. In 2017, Supper Club released its debut album, "Supper Club," which featured a mix of classical repertoire and original compositions. The album received critical acclaim and was praised for its fresh and innovative approach to classical music. Over the years, Supper Club has continued to push the boundaries of classical music performance. The ensemble has collaborated with a wide range of artists, including dancers, visual artists, and composers, to create performances that are truly unique and unforgettable. One of Supper Club's most memorable performances was a collaboration with the dance company BalletX. The performance, titled "Sunset, o639 Hours," was a multimedia ballet that told the story of a pilot who disappeared while attempting to fly across the Pacific Ocean in 1935. The performance featured live music by Supper Club, as well as video projections and choreography by BalletX. Supper Club has also been recognized for its contributions to the classical music world. In 2018, the ensemble was awarded the Chamber Music America/ASCAP Award for Adventurous Programming. The award recognized Supper Club's commitment to presenting innovative and engaging performances that push the boundaries of classical music. Today, Supper Club continues to be a leading voice in the classical music world. The ensemble's performances are known for their creativity, energy, and passion, and audiences around the world continue to be captivated by their unique approach to classical music.More....
