Veli Kujala is a Finnish classical music artist who has made a name for himself as a virtuoso accordionist and composer. Born on May 17, 1975, in Helsinki, Finland, Kujala grew up in a family of musicians. His father was a jazz pianist, and his mother was a classical pianist. Kujala started playing the accordion at the age of six and quickly showed a natural talent for the instrument. Kujala's early musical education was focused on classical music, and he studied at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki, one of the most prestigious music schools in the world. He also studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen and the Hochschule für Musik in Freiburg, Germany. In 1993, he won the Finnish National Accordion Competition, and in 1994, he won the Nordic Accordion Championship.
