Role:EnsembleThe Staryk-Perry Duo is a classical music ensemble that was founded in 1989 by violinist Steven Staryk and pianist Valerie Tryon Perry. The duo has gained international recognition for their virtuosic performances and unique interpretations of classical repertoire. Steven Staryk was born in Toronto, Canada in 1932 and began playing the violin at a young age. He quickly gained recognition for his talent and went on to study at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto and the Juilliard School in New York City. Staryk has performed with many of the world's leading orchestras, including the London Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Toronto Symphony Orchestra. He has also recorded extensively, with over 100 recordings to his name. Valerie Tryon Perry was born in London, England in 1934 and began playing the piano at the age of two. She studied at the Royal Academy of Music in London and went on to perform with many of the world's leading orchestras, including the London Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Toronto Symphony Orchestra. Perry has also recorded extensively, with over 60 recordings to her name. The Staryk-Perry Duo was formed in 1989 when Staryk and Perry met at a music festival in Canada. They quickly discovered a shared passion for classical music and began performing together. The duo's first performance was at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto, and they quickly gained a reputation for their virtuosic performances and unique interpretations of classical repertoire. One of the highlights of the Staryk-Perry Duo's career was their performance at the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona, Spain.
