Virginia Black was born on May 12, 1985, in New York City. She grew up in a family of musicians, with her mother being a pianist and her father a cellist. From a young age, Virginia showed a natural talent for music and began taking piano lessons at the age of four. As she grew older, Virginia's love for music only intensified. She began studying classical piano at the Juilliard School of Music in New York City, where she quickly became known for her exceptional talent and dedication to her craft. She also studied under some of the most renowned pianists of the time, including Martha Argerich and Vladimir Horowitz. In 2005, Virginia made her debut performance at Carnegie Hall, where she received a standing ovation for her performance of Beethoven's Piano Sonata No. 14 in C-sharp minor, Op. 27, No. 2, also known as the "Moonlight Sonata." This performance marked the beginning of Virginia's career as a professional classical pianist. Over the years, Virginia has performed at some of the most prestigious venues in the world, including the Royal Albert Hall in London, the Sydney Opera House in Australia, and the Salle Pleyel in Paris. She has also collaborated with some of the most renowned orchestras, including the New York Philharmonic, the London Symphony Orchestra, and the Berlin Philharmonic. In 2010, Virginia was awarded the Avery Fisher Career Grant, which is given to outstanding young musicians who show exceptional talent and promise in their field. This award helped to further establish Virginia as one of the most promising young pianists of her generation. In addition to her performances, Virginia is also a dedicated teacher and mentor. She has taught master classes at some of the most prestigious music schools in the world, including the Juilliard School, the Royal Academy of Music in London, and the Conservatoire de Paris. Despite her success, Virginia remains humble and dedicated to her craft. She continues to practice for hours each day, always striving to improve her technique and interpretation of the music she plays.
