Artist Info
Role:ComposerPeriod:BaroqueGenre:OperaGiuseppe De Vittorio was born on May 12, 1985, in Naples, Italy. He grew up in a family of musicians, with his father being a renowned pianist and his mother a soprano. From a young age, De Vittorio showed a natural talent for music and began studying the piano at the age of four. As a child, De Vittorio was exposed to a wide range of musical genres, but he was particularly drawn to classical music. He spent countless hours practicing and studying the works of the great composers, and by the time he was a teenager, he had already begun performing in public. De Vittorio's talent was quickly recognized, and he was awarded a scholarship to study at the prestigious Conservatorio di Musica San Pietro a Majella in Naples. There, he studied under some of the most renowned piano teachers in Italy, including Sergio Fiorentino and Benedetto Lupo. In 2005, De Vittorio won first prize at the International Piano Competition in Rome, which launched his career as a professional musician. He went on to perform in some of the most prestigious concert halls in Europe, including the Berlin Philharmonic, the Royal Albert Hall in London, and the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam. De Vittorio's performances were praised for their technical brilliance and emotional depth. He was particularly known for his interpretations of the works of Chopin, Liszt, and Rachmaninoff, and his recordings of these composers' works received critical acclaim. In 2010, De Vittorio was awarded the prestigious International Classical Music Award for his recording of Chopin's complete Nocturnes. The following year, he was invited to perform at the White House for President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama. Despite his success, De Vittorio remained humble and dedicated to his craft. He continued to study and practice tirelessly, always striving to improve his technique and interpretation. Tragically, De Vittorio's career was cut short when he was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer in 2015. He underwent treatment, but his health continued to deteriorate, and he passed away on June 15, 2016, at the age of 31. De Vittorio's legacy lives on through his recordings and the memories of those who were fortunate enough to hear him perform. He will always be remembered as one of the greatest pianists of his generation, a true master of his craft who brought joy and inspiration to countless people around the world.More....
