Montaña was a Spanish classical music composer who was born on March 28, 1866, in Valencia, Spain. He was born into a family of musicians, and his father was a well-known composer and conductor. Montaña showed an early interest in music and began studying the piano and violin at a young age. Montaña's musical education began at the Valencia Conservatory, where he studied under the tutelage of Joaquín Rodrigo. The concerto is a tribute to the gardens of the Royal Palace of Aranjuez, and it is considered one of the greatest works of the Spanish classical music repertoire.
