Christian Flor was a German composer and pianist who lived from 1786 to 1866. He was born in the town of Königsberg, which is now known as Kaliningrad and is located in modern-day Russia. Flor showed an early aptitude for music and began studying piano and composition at a young age. Flor's musical education was extensive and varied. He studied with several prominent musicians of his time, including Johann Nepomuk Hummel and Carl Maria von Weber. His most famous opera is Undine, which was first performed in 1816. The opera is based on a German fairy tale and tells the story of a water nymph who falls in love with a mortal man.
