Ettore Kim is a renowned classical music artist who has made a significant impact in the world of music. Born on December 12, 1992, in Seoul, South Korea, Ettore Kim showed an early interest in music and began playing the violin at the age of four. His parents recognized his talent and encouraged him to pursue his passion for music. Ettore Kim's musical journey began at the Yewon School in Seoul, where he received his early education in music. He then went on to study at the Seoul Arts High School, where he continued to hone his skills as a violinist. In 2010, Ettore Kim moved to the United States to attend the Juilliard School in New York City, where he studied under the tutelage of renowned violinist Itzhak Perlman. During his time at Juilliard, Ettore Kim made a name for himself as a talented and dedicated musician. He won numerous awards and accolades, including the Dorothy DeLay Scholarship, the Irene Diamond Graduate Fellowship, and the Kovner Fellowship. He also performed in several prestigious venues, including Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and the Kennedy Center. In 2014, Ettore Kim graduated from Juilliard with a Bachelor of Music degree. He then went on to pursue a Master of Music degree at the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, where he studied under the guidance of violinist Miriam Fried. While at the New England Conservatory, Ettore Kim continued to excel as a musician, winning the school's Concerto Competition and performing as a soloist with the NEC Philharmonia. Ettore Kim's talent and dedication to music have earned him numerous awards and recognitions throughout his career. In 2015, he was awarded the prestigious Avery Fisher Career Grant, which recognizes outstanding young musicians who show great potential for a significant career in music. He was also a recipient of the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Graduate Arts Award, which provides financial support to exceptional artists who demonstrate financial need. Ettore Kim has performed with some of the world's most renowned orchestras, including the New York Philharmonic, the Boston Symphony Orchestra, and the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra. He has also collaborated with many distinguished conductors, including Alan Gilbert, Andris Nelsons, and Myung-Whun Chung. One of Ettore Kim's most notable performances was his debut with the New York Philharmonic in 2016, where he performed the Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto under the baton of Alan Gilbert. The performance was met with critical acclaim, with The New York Times praising Ettore Kim's "impressive technique and musicality." In addition to his performances as a soloist, Ettore Kim is also an active chamber musician. He has performed with many distinguished musicians, including pianist Emanuel Ax, cellist Yo-Yo Ma, and violinist Pinchas Zukerman. He is a member of the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center's prestigious CMS Two program, which provides young musicians with opportunities to perform in chamber music ensembles. Ettore Kim is also committed to music education and outreach.
