Agustín Prunell-Friend is a classical music artist who has made a name for himself as a tenor and conductor. Born in Barcelona, Spain in 1979, Prunell-Friend grew up in a family of musicians. His mother was a pianist and his father was a conductor, so it was no surprise that he developed a love for music at a young age. Prunell-Friend began his musical training at the age of six, studying piano and singing in a choir. He later went on to study at the Conservatori Superior de Música del Liceu in Barcelona, where he received a degree in piano performance. During his time at the conservatory, he also began to study voice and quickly discovered that he had a natural talent for singing. After completing his studies, Prunell-Friend began to perform professionally as a tenor. He quickly gained a reputation for his powerful voice and his ability to convey emotion through his singing. He also began to conduct, and soon became known for his skill in leading orchestras and choirs. One of Prunell-Friend's early highlights as a performer was his debut at the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona. He sang the role of Don Ottavio in Mozart's Don Giovanni, and his performance was met with critical acclaim. He went on to perform at other major opera houses in Europe, including the Royal Opera House in London and the Teatro alla Scala in Milan. In addition to his work as a tenor, Prunell-Friend has also made a name for himself as a conductor. He has led orchestras and choirs in performances of works by composers such as Bach, Mozart, and Beethoven. He is known for his ability to bring out the best in his musicians, and for his attention to detail in rehearsals. Prunell-Friend has received numerous awards and honors throughout his career. In 2005, he was awarded the Premi Ciutat de Barcelona, a prestigious award given to artists who have made significant contributions to the cultural life of the city. He has also been recognized for his work as a conductor, receiving the Premi Nacional de Música in 2010. Despite his success, Prunell-Friend remains humble and dedicated to his craft. He continues to perform and conduct, and is always looking for new ways to challenge himself and grow as an artist.
