Kevin Jay Isaacs was born on May 12, 1975, in New York City. He grew up in a family of musicians, with his father being a jazz pianist and his mother a classical violinist. Isaacs began playing the piano at the age of four and showed a natural talent for music. He was enrolled in music lessons at a young age and quickly progressed in his studies. Isaacs attended the Juilliard School in New York City, where he studied composition under the guidance of renowned composer John Corigliano. During his time at Juilliard, Isaacs composed several works that received critical acclaim, including his Symphony No. 1, which was premiered by the Juilliard Orchestra in 1997.
