Norman Platt was a renowned classical music artist who made a significant contribution to the world of music. He was born on June 12, 1945, in London, England. From a young age, Platt showed a keen interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of six. His parents recognized his talent and encouraged him to pursue his passion for music. Platt's musical education began at the Royal Academy of Music in London, where he studied piano under the tutelage of renowned pianist and teacher, Harold Craxton. Platt's talent and dedication to music were evident from the start, and he quickly became one of Craxton's most promising students. After completing his studies at the Royal Academy of Music, Platt embarked on a successful career as a concert pianist. He performed extensively throughout Europe, Asia, and the United States, earning critical acclaim for his virtuosic performances and musical interpretations. One of the highlights of Platt's career was his performance at the Royal Albert Hall in London in 1972. He played Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 5, also known as the "Emperor" concerto, with the London Symphony Orchestra. Platt's talent and dedication to music were recognized with numerous awards and honors throughout his career. In 1975, he was awarded the prestigious Queen's Commendation for Excellence in the Arts.
