Allen Spanjer was born on May 12, 1985, in New York City. He grew up in a family of musicians, with his father being a classical pianist and his mother a violinist. From a young age, Spanjer showed a natural talent for music and began playing the piano at the age of four. Spanjer's parents recognized his potential and enrolled him in the Juilliard School's Pre-College Division when he was just six years old. He studied under renowned pianist and teacher Yoheved Kaplinsky, who recognized his exceptional talent and encouraged him to pursue a career in music. Spanjer continued his studies at the Juilliard School, where he earned his Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance. He then went on to earn his Master of Music degree from the Manhattan School of Music, where he studied under the tutelage of renowned pianist and teacher Solomon Mikowsky. Throughout his career, Spanjer has performed in some of the world's most prestigious concert halls, including Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and the Kennedy Center. He has also performed with some of the world's leading orchestras, including the New York Philharmonic, the Boston Symphony Orchestra, and the London Symphony Orchestra. One of Spanjer's most notable performances was his debut recital at Carnegie Hall in 2008. The performance was met with critical acclaim, with The New York Times praising Spanjer's "virtuosic technique and musical sensitivity." In addition to his performances, Spanjer has also won numerous awards and competitions throughout his career. In 2006, he won the Juilliard School's Gina Bachauer Piano Competition, and in 2008, he was awarded the prestigious Avery Fisher Career Grant.
