One of Orfe's most notable works is his opera, "The Bacchae," which was commissioned by the University of Michigan and premiered in 2008. The opera is based on the ancient Greek tragedy by Euripides and tells the story of the god Dionysus and his revenge against the city of Thebes. The opera features a large cast of singers and actors, as well as a full orchestra and chorus. Another notable work by Orfe is his "Concerto for Two Pianos and Orchestra," which was commissioned by the Grand Rapids Symphony and premiered in 2012.
