Guitar Trio 1+2 is a classical music ensemble that has been captivating audiences with their unique blend of guitar music since their founding in 1999. The trio is made up of three virtuosic guitarists: Konstantin Vassiliev, Dmitry Illarionov, and Vadim Kholodenko. Each member brings their own unique style and technique to the group, resulting in a sound that is both cohesive and dynamic. The trio was founded in Moscow, Russia, where all three members were studying at the Moscow State Conservatory. They quickly gained recognition for their exceptional musicianship and were invited to perform at various festivals and concerts throughout Russia. In 2001, they won first prize at the International Guitar Competition in St. Petersburg, solidifying their place as one of the top guitar ensembles in the world. Since then, Guitar Trio 1+2 has gone on to perform at some of the most prestigious venues and festivals around the globe. They have played at the Berlin Philharmonic, the Royal Albert Hall in London, and the Carnegie Hall in New York City, among many others. Their performances have been praised for their technical precision, musicality, and emotional depth. One of the highlights of the trio's career was their performance at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, China. They were invited to perform at the closing ceremony, where they played a medley of traditional Chinese folk songs arranged for guitar. The performance was watched by millions of people around the world and was widely praised for its beauty and cultural significance. In addition to their performances, Guitar Trio 1+2 has also released several critically acclaimed albums. Their debut album, "Guitar Trio 1+2," was released in 2003 and featured a mix of classical and contemporary pieces. Their second album, "Russian Guitar Music," was released in 2006 and focused on the rich tradition of Russian guitar music. Both albums received rave reviews from critics and helped to establish the trio as one of the most exciting and innovative guitar ensembles of their time. Throughout their career, Guitar Trio 1+2 has received numerous awards and accolades for their contributions to classical music.
