The Karl Richter Chamber Orchestra is a renowned classical music ensemble that has been captivating audiences with its exceptional performances for over four decades. The orchestra was founded in 1978 by the German conductor and harpsichordist, Karl Richter, who was known for his expertise in Baroque music. Karl Richter was born in 1926 in Plauen, Germany, and began his musical career as a church organist. He later studied conducting and harpsichord at the Leipzig Conservatory and went on to become one of the most respected conductors of his time. Richter was particularly known for his interpretations of the works of Johann Sebastian Bach, and his recordings of Bach's music are still considered some of the best ever made. In 1978, Richter founded the Karl Richter Chamber Orchestra with the aim of bringing together some of the finest musicians in Germany to perform Baroque music. The orchestra quickly gained a reputation for its exceptional performances, and it soon became one of the most sought-after ensembles in Europe. The Karl Richter Chamber Orchestra is made up of around 30 musicians, all of whom are highly skilled and experienced in playing Baroque music.
