Blair Bollinger is a renowned classical music artist who has made a significant contribution to the world of music through his exceptional skills as a trombonist. Born on August 28, 1957, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Bollinger grew up in a family of musicians. His father was a professional trumpet player, and his mother was a pianist. Bollinger's early exposure to music played a significant role in shaping his career as a musician. Bollinger began playing the trombone at the age of 10 and quickly developed a passion for the instrument. He attended the University of Miami, where he earned a Bachelor of Music degree in 1979. He then went on to pursue a Master of Music degree at Temple University, which he completed in 1981. After completing his education, Bollinger began his professional career as a trombonist. He joined the Philadelphia Orchestra in 1986 and served as the principal trombonist for 25 years. During his tenure with the orchestra, Bollinger performed in numerous concerts and recordings, including the orchestra's Grammy Award-winning recording of Mahler's Symphony No. 5. In addition to his work with the Philadelphia Orchestra, Bollinger has also performed with other renowned orchestras, including the New York Philharmonic, the Boston Symphony Orchestra, and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. He has also performed as a soloist with various orchestras and has given recitals and masterclasses throughout the United States and Europe.
