Bruno Roussel had studied at the Université de Montréal and had performed extensively throughout Canada and Europe. Louis Trépanier had studied at the Université Laval and had performed with several orchestras in Canada. The quartet's unique sound and exceptional musicianship quickly gained them a following, and they began performing at festivals and concert halls across Canada and the United States. In 2001, they released their debut album, "Canadian Guitar Quartet," which received critical acclaim and helped to establish them as one of the premier classical guitar ensembles in the world. Over the years, the Canadian Guitar Quartet has performed at some of the most prestigious venues in the world, including Carnegie Hall in New York City, the Palais des Beaux-Arts in Brussels, and the National Arts Centre in Ottawa. They have also collaborated with some of the most renowned musicians in the classical music world, including the Montreal Symphony Orchestra and the Toronto Symphony Orchestra.
