Myrsini Margariti is a Greek classical pianist who has gained international recognition for her exceptional talent and musicality. Born in Athens in 1989, Margariti showed an early interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of six. She quickly demonstrated a natural aptitude for the instrument and began taking lessons with renowned pianists in Greece. Margariti's talent was evident from a young age, and she began winning awards and competitions early on in her career. In 2003, she won first prize in the National Piano Competition in Greece, and in 2005, she was awarded the prestigious Yamaha Music Foundation of Europe Scholarship. Margariti continued to excel in her studies, and in 2008, she graduated with honors from the Athens Conservatory, where she studied with renowned pianist and pedagogue, Dimitris Toufexis. After completing her studies in Greece, Margariti continued her musical education abroad, studying with some of the world's most renowned pianists. She received a scholarship to attend the Royal Academy of Music in London, where she studied with Christopher Elton and Joanna MacGregor. Margariti also studied with Pascal Devoyon at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hamburg, Germany, and with Boris Berman at the Yale School of Music in the United States. Margariti's international studies and performances have earned her numerous awards and accolades. In 2010, she won first prize in the International Piano Competition in Rome, and in 2011, she was awarded the prestigious Prix d'Europe, one of the oldest and most prestigious music competitions in the world. Margariti has also been a finalist in several other international competitions, including the Leeds International Piano Competition and the International Piano Competition in Santander. Margariti's performances have taken her to some of the world's most prestigious concert halls, including the Royal Albert Hall in London, the Berlin Philharmonic, and Carnegie Hall in New York. She has performed with some of the world's leading orchestras, including the London Philharmonic Orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Berlin Symphony Orchestra. Margariti has also collaborated with some of the world's most renowned conductors, including Sir Simon Rattle, Vladimir Ashkenazy, and Daniel Harding. Margariti's repertoire is vast and varied, ranging from the Baroque era to contemporary music. She has a particular affinity for the music of Beethoven, and has performed his complete piano sonatas in several countries. Margariti is also a champion of contemporary music, and has premiered works by several contemporary composers, including George Benjamin and Thomas Adès. In addition to her performing career, Margariti is also a dedicated teacher and mentor. She has taught masterclasses at several prestigious institutions, including the Royal Academy of Music in London and the Yale School of Music.
