From a young age, Julian showed a keen interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of four. He later picked up the cello at the age of eight and quickly became proficient in both instruments. Julian's parents recognized his talent and encouraged him to pursue a career in music. He attended the Royal Academy of Music in London, where he studied under renowned cellist Steven Isserlis. During his time at the academy, Julian won several awards and competitions, including the prestigious Royal Academy of Music Club Prize. After graduating from the academy, Julian began performing professionally as a soloist and chamber musician. He quickly gained a reputation for his virtuosic playing and expressive interpretations of classical music. He has performed at some of the world's most prestigious concert halls, including Carnegie Hall in New York, the Royal Albert Hall in London, and the Berlin Philharmonic. One of Julian's most memorable performances was his debut with the London Symphony Orchestra in 2010. He performed the Elgar Cello Concerto to critical acclaim, with The Guardian describing his playing as "mesmerizing" and "spellbinding."
