Role:ConductorShai Kribus is a renowned classical music artist who has made a name for himself as a virtuoso clarinetist. Born in Israel in 1985, Kribus showed an early interest in music and began playing the clarinet at the age of 10. He quickly demonstrated a natural talent for the instrument and began studying with some of the most respected clarinet teachers in Israel. Kribus continued to hone his skills throughout his teenage years, and by the time he was 18, he had already won several prestigious awards and competitions. In 2003, he was awarded first prize in the Israeli Young Musicians Competition, and in 2004, he won the top prize in the Aviv Competition for Young Musicians. After completing his military service in Israel, Kribus moved to the United States to further his musical education. He enrolled at the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, where he studied with some of the most renowned clarinetists in the world, including Richard Stoltzman and Thomas Martin. During his time at the New England Conservatory, Kribus continued to win awards and accolades for his playing. In 2008, he was awarded first prize in the International Clarinet Association's Young Artist Competition, and in 2009, he won the top prize in the Boston Woodwind Society Competition. After completing his studies at the New England Conservatory, Kribus began to establish himself as a professional musician. He has performed as a soloist with some of the world's leading orchestras, including the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, the Boston Symphony Orchestra, and the New York Philharmonic. Kribus has also been a frequent performer at some of the world's most prestigious music festivals, including the Marlboro Music Festival, the Tanglewood Music Festival, and the Verbier Festival. He has collaborated with some of the most respected musicians in the world, including pianist Emanuel Ax, violinist Joshua Bell, and cellist Yo-Yo Ma. In addition to his work as a performer, Kribus is also a respected teacher and mentor. He has taught at several prestigious music schools, including the New England Conservatory and the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance. He is also a sought-after masterclass teacher, and has given masterclasses at some of the world's leading music schools and festivals. Throughout his career, Kribus has been recognized for his exceptional talent and dedication to his craft. In addition to the awards he won as a young musician, he has also been the recipient of several prestigious awards and honors as a professional musician. In 2012, he was awarded the prestigious Avery Fisher Career Grant, which recognizes outstanding young musicians who show exceptional promise for a career in classical music.
