Cristina Valdes is a renowned classical pianist known for her virtuosic performances and dedication to contemporary music. Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Valdes began playing the piano at the age of five and quickly showed a natural talent for the instrument. Valdes has also performed with many contemporary music ensembles, including the Seattle Chamber Players, the San Francisco Contemporary Music Players, and the Talea Ensemble. She has also been a recipient of the Fromm Music Foundation Commission, which supports the creation of new works by emerging composers.
