The Leibniz Trio is a classical music ensemble that was founded in 2008. The trio consists of three members: violinist, Anna Lim, cellist, David Requiro, and pianist, Gleb Ivanov. The ensemble is named after the German philosopher and mathematician, Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz, who is known for his contributions to calculus and philosophy. Anna Lim, the violinist of the Leibniz Trio, was born in South Korea and began playing the violin at the age of four. She later moved to the United States to study at the Juilliard School and has since performed with numerous orchestras and ensembles around the world. David Requiro, the cellist of the trio, was born in New York and began playing the cello at the age of four. He has won numerous awards and competitions, including the Naumburg International Cello Competition. Gleb Ivanov, the pianist of the trio, was born in Russia and began playing the piano at the age of five. He has won numerous awards and competitions, including the Arthur Rubinstein International Piano Master Competition. The Leibniz Trio has performed at numerous venues and festivals around the world, including the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C., the Ravinia Festival in Chicago, and the Seoul Arts Center in South Korea. They have also performed with numerous orchestras, including the Seattle Symphony, the Colorado Symphony, and the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra. One of the highlights of the Leibniz Trio's career was their performance at the 2010 Chamber Music America Conference in New York City. The trio performed works by Beethoven, Brahms, and Shostakovich to critical acclaim. They were also awarded the prestigious Cleveland Quartet Award, which recognizes outstanding young chamber ensembles. In addition to their performances, the Leibniz Trio is also committed to education and outreach.
