Born on August 15, 1972, in Caracas, Venezuela, Tiempo showed an early interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of two. His father, a composer and conductor, recognized his son's talent and encouraged him to pursue a career in music. Tiempo's early musical education was shaped by his father's influence, as well as by his studies with renowned Venezuelan pianist Teresa Carreño. He later studied with pianist Martha Argerich, who became a mentor and close friend.
