Ars Nostra is a classical music ensemble that was founded in 2005 by a group of talented musicians who shared a passion for chamber music. The ensemble is based in Paris, France, and is known for its innovative and dynamic performances that showcase the beauty and complexity of classical music. The founding members of Ars Nostra were violinist Régis Pasquier, cellist Philippe Muller, and pianist Bruno Rigutto. All three musicians had established successful solo careers and had performed with some of the world's most prestigious orchestras and ensembles. However, they were drawn together by their shared love of chamber music and their desire to create a new ensemble that would push the boundaries of classical music performance. From the beginning, Ars Nostra was committed to exploring the full range of classical music repertoire, from the Baroque era to contemporary works. The ensemble's members were also dedicated to collaborating with other musicians and artists, and they frequently invited guest performers to join them for concerts and recordings. One of the highlights of Ars Nostra's early years was their performance at the Festival de Musique de Menton in 2006. The ensemble received critical acclaim for their interpretation of Beethoven's "Archduke" Trio, and they were invited back to the festival in subsequent years. Ars Nostra also performed at the Festival de la Roque d'Anthéron, one of the most prestigious classical music festivals in France, in 2007. In 2008, Ars Nostra released their debut album, "Trio," which featured works by Beethoven, Brahms, and Schubert. The album received widespread praise for its technical precision and emotional depth, and it helped to establish the ensemble as one of the most exciting new groups in classical music. Over the years, Ars Nostra has continued to perform at major festivals and concert halls around the world, including the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées in Paris, the Wigmore Hall in London, and the Lincoln Center in New York. The ensemble has also collaborated with a wide range of musicians and artists, including pianist Jean-Philippe Collard, cellist Gautier Capuçon, and the Quatuor Ébène. In addition to their live performances, Ars Nostra has released several critically acclaimed albums, including "Brahms: The Piano Trios" (2010), "Schubert: The Piano Trios" (2012), and "Beethoven: The Complete Piano Trios" (2015). The ensemble's recordings have been praised for their technical excellence and their ability to capture the emotional depth and complexity of classical music. Ars Nostra has also received numerous awards and honors over the years. In 2010, the ensemble was awarded the Grand Prix du Disque by the Académie Charles Cros for their album "Brahms: The Piano Trios." The following year, they received the Diapason d'Or for their recording of Schubert's "Trout" Quintet. In 2015, Ars Nostra was awarded the Victoire de la Musique Classique, one of the most prestigious awards in French classical music, for their album "Beethoven: The Complete Piano Trios." Today, Ars Nostra continues to be one of the most exciting and innovative ensembles in classical music. The ensemble's commitment to exploring the full range of classical music repertoire, collaborating with other musicians and artists, and pushing the boundaries of performance has made them a favorite among audiences and critics alike.
