New Seasons Ensemble is a classical music ensemble that was founded in 2006 by four musicians who shared a passion for chamber music. The ensemble is based in New York City and has since become one of the most sought-after chamber music groups in the United States. The founding members of New Seasons Ensemble are violinist Lisa Tipton, violist Michael Roth, cellist Stephen Framil, and pianist Erika Nickrenz. All four musicians had extensive experience performing in various orchestras and chamber music groups before coming together to form New Seasons Ensemble. The ensemble's name was inspired by the Vivaldi composition "The Four Seasons," which is a set of four violin concertos that represent the different seasons of the year. New Seasons Ensemble wanted to capture the same sense of change and renewal in their music, and thus chose their name to reflect this idea. New Seasons Ensemble has performed in some of the most prestigious concert halls in the world, including Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and the Kennedy Center. They have also been featured on numerous radio and television programs, including NPR's "Performance Today" and "All Things Considered." One of the highlights of New Seasons Ensemble's career was their performance at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, China. The ensemble was invited to perform at the U.S. Embassy in Beijing as part of the cultural events surrounding the games. Their performance was well-received by both the American and Chinese audiences, and helped to promote cultural exchange between the two countries. New Seasons Ensemble has also been recognized for their outstanding performances with several awards and honors. In 2010, they were awarded the Chamber Music America Residency Partnership Grant, which allowed them to work with young musicians in underserved communities. They were also named the 2011-2012 Ensemble-in-Residence at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. In addition to their performances and awards, New Seasons Ensemble is also committed to music education and outreach. They regularly give masterclasses and workshops to young musicians, and have worked with organizations such as the New York Philharmonic's Very Young Composers program and the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center's Chamber Music Encounters program. New Seasons Ensemble's repertoire includes a wide range of classical music, from Baroque to contemporary. They are particularly known for their interpretations of works by Mozart, Beethoven, and Brahms, as well as their performances of lesser-known works by composers such as Dvorak and Shostakovich. Overall, New Seasons Ensemble has established themselves as one of the premier chamber music groups in the United States. Their commitment to excellence in performance, education, and outreach has earned them a loyal following and numerous accolades. As they continue to perform and inspire audiences around the world, it is clear that New Seasons Ensemble is a group that will continue to make a significant impact on the world of classical music.
