Simone Leitao is a Brazilian classical pianist and composer who has gained international recognition for her virtuosic performances and innovative compositions. Born in Rio de Janeiro in 1981, Leitao showed an early aptitude for music and began studying piano at the age of six. She quickly demonstrated a natural talent for the instrument, and by the age of ten, she had won her first piano competition. Leitao continued to excel in her musical studies, and in 1999, she was accepted into the prestigious Juilliard School in New York City. There, she studied under the tutelage of renowned pianist and pedagogue Yoheved Kaplinsky, and she quickly established herself as one of the school's most promising young musicians.
