He was raised in a musical family, and his father was a famous violinist. Ramzy started playing the darbuka, a traditional Egyptian drum, at the age of three, and he quickly became a prodigy. He also learned to play other percussion instruments, such as the tabla, riq, and sagat. Ramzy's musical career began in the 1970s when he joined the Egyptian folkloric troupe, Reda. He toured with the group for several years, performing in various countries around the world. In 1981, Ramzy moved to England, where he continued to pursue his musical career. He quickly became a sought-after percussionist, and he worked with many famous musicians, including Peter Gabriel, Robert Plant, and Jimmy Page. In the 1990s, Ramzy began to focus on his solo career, and he released several albums that showcased his unique blend of traditional Egyptian music and modern Western styles. His music was well-received by critics and audiences alike, and he became known as one of the most innovative and talented percussionists in the world. One of Ramzy's most significant achievements was his collaboration with the famous composer and conductor, Philharmonia Orchestra.
