Peter Hamilton was born on May 15, 1985, in London, England. He grew up in a family of musicians, with his father being a renowned pianist and his mother a violinist. From a young age, Hamilton showed a keen interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of four. Hamilton's parents recognized his talent and encouraged him to pursue a career in music. He began taking formal piano lessons at the age of six and quickly progressed, winning his first competition at the age of eight. Hamilton continued to excel in his studies and was accepted into the prestigious Royal Academy of Music in London at the age of 16. During his time at the Royal Academy of Music, Hamilton studied under some of the most renowned pianists in the world, including Maria João Pires and Murray Perahia. He also had the opportunity to perform in some of the most prestigious concert halls in Europe, including the Royal Albert Hall and the Berlin Philharmonic. Hamilton's talent and dedication to his craft quickly caught the attention of the classical music world. In 2005, he won the prestigious Leeds International Piano Competition, becoming the youngest winner in the competition's history. This win catapulted Hamilton to international fame and he began receiving invitations to perform at some of the world's most renowned concert halls. Over the years, Hamilton has performed with some of the world's leading orchestras, including the London Symphony Orchestra, the New York Philharmonic, and the Berlin Philharmonic. He has also collaborated with some of the most renowned conductors in the world, including Sir Simon Rattle and Daniel Barenboim. Hamilton's repertoire is vast and includes works by some of the greatest composers in history, including Beethoven, Mozart, and Chopin. He is particularly known for his interpretations of the works of Franz Liszt, and has been praised for his ability to bring out the emotional depth and complexity of Liszt's music. In addition to his performances, Hamilton is also a dedicated teacher and has taught masterclasses at some of the world's leading music schools, including the Juilliard School in New York and the Royal Academy of Music in London. He is passionate about passing on his knowledge and experience to the next generation of musicians and is committed to helping young pianists develop their skills and reach their full potential. Throughout his career, Hamilton has received numerous awards and accolades for his contributions to the classical music world. In addition to his win at the Leeds International Piano Competition, he has also been awarded the Royal Philharmonic Society's Instrumentalist Award and the Gramophone Award for Best Instrumental Recording.
