James Bowers was born on May 15, 1985, in New York City. He grew up in a family of musicians, with his mother being a pianist and his father a cellist. From a young age, Bowers showed a natural talent for music, and he began taking piano lessons at the age of five. As he grew older, Bowers became increasingly interested in classical music, and he began studying with some of the top piano teachers in the city.
