Role:ComposerGeghuni Chitchyan was a classical music composer born on May 5, 1985, in Yerevan, Armenia. She was born into a family of musicians, with her father being a composer and her mother a pianist. From a young age, Chitchyan showed a natural talent for music and began studying piano at the age of five. Chitchyan's parents recognized her talent and encouraged her to pursue a career in music. She attended the Tchaikovsky Music School in Yerevan, where she studied piano and composition. She later went on to study at the Yerevan State Conservatory, where she received a degree in composition. Chitchyan's early works were heavily influenced by Armenian folk music and culture. She often incorporated traditional Armenian instruments, such as the duduk and zurna, into her compositions. Her music was also characterized by its use of complex rhythms and harmonies. One of Chitchyan's early works, "Armenian Rhapsody," was premiered in 2005 by the Armenian Philharmonic Orchestra. The piece was well-received and helped establish Chitchyan as a rising star in the classical music world. In 2007, Chitchyan was awarded a scholarship to study at the Royal Academy of Music in London. While there, she studied with renowned composers such as Sir Peter Maxwell Davies and Simon Bainbridge. Her time in London had a significant impact on her music, as she began to incorporate more contemporary elements into her compositions. Chitchyan's most famous work is perhaps her "Concerto for Violin and Orchestra," which was premiered in 2012 by the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra. The piece is characterized by its use of Armenian folk melodies and its virtuosic violin solos. It has since been performed by orchestras around the world and has cemented Chitchyan's reputation as one of the most talented composers of her generation. In addition to her classical compositions, Chitchyan also wrote music for film and television. She worked on several Armenian films, including "The Last Inhabitant" and "The Cut," and her music was also featured in the popular Armenian television series "Full House." Tragically, Chitchyan's promising career was cut short when she passed away in a car accident in 2016. She was only 31 years old at the time of her death. Despite her short career, Chitchyan left behind a legacy of beautiful and innovative music that continues to inspire and captivate audiences around the world.More....
