Kantorei is a classical music artist that has been captivating audiences with their stunning vocal performances for over 20 years. The group was founded in 1997 by Joel Rinsema, who was then the Director of Music at Augustana Lutheran Church in Denver, Colorado. Rinsema had a vision of creating a professional-level choir that would perform a wide range of choral music, from the Renaissance to contemporary works. Under Rinsema's leadership, Kantorei quickly gained a reputation for excellence in the Denver music scene. The group's first major performance was in 1998, when they were invited to perform at the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) conference in Salt Lake City, Utah. This performance was a huge success, and it helped to establish Kantorei as one of the premier choral ensembles in the region. Over the years, Kantorei has continued to grow and evolve under the leadership of several different directors. In 2005, the group welcomed its current Artistic Director, Richard Larson. Larson has been instrumental in expanding Kantorei's repertoire and pushing the group to new heights of musical excellence. One of the highlights of Kantorei's career came in 2010, when they were invited to perform at the ACDA National Conference in Chicago. This was a huge honor for the group, as only a handful of choirs from around the country are selected to perform at this prestigious event. Kantorei's performance was a huge success, and it helped to cement their reputation as one of the top choral ensembles in the country. In addition to their success at the ACDA conferences, Kantorei has also won numerous awards and accolades over the years. In 2007, they were named the "Best Choral Group" by Westword, a Denver-based arts and culture magazine. They have also been featured on several recordings, including a 2012 album titled "From the Heart," which features a collection of love songs from throughout the ages. Despite their many accomplishments, Kantorei remains committed to their mission of bringing beautiful choral music to audiences around the world. They continue to perform regularly in the Denver area, and they have also toured extensively throughout the United States and Europe. Their performances are always a treat for music lovers, and they are sure to continue delighting audiences for many years to come.
